<font color=blue>The Shetland 570 is from of a stable of boats that was founded by John Hardy (yes! The same as Hardy boats). He later became partners with Jack Stokes who was a 'prop' expert. Their pedigree goes back to 1969 with the 535. Since then the company has changed hands several times. At one stage in the early 70s Shetlands were the biggest boat builders in Europe making some 400 boats a month. When John & Jack sold out the new owners sacked the advertising agency (wonder who that was? tongue in cheek) and handled it themselves... sales fell out of bed and never recovered.
There is no doubt about it. The Shetland is an excellent entry level boat. The 570 is very versatile and can be utilised for plain cruising though to water skiing. Look after her and you will not lose a penny when you decide to move up the ladder.

Hi skinner, you haven't filled in your profile. So where are you on the Broads?

One rule of boating on the Broads........keep out of the way of hire boats and sail boats......neither have a clue about coll regs and both will do their best to hit you :)

The one upside to this Lyn, is that the hire boats quite willingly take out the sailboats too......................../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
