Shepperton Lock EA Moorings

Seems like we're being positively spoilt this year, what with new moorings at Hurley lock, Wallingford and now improvements (allbeit ill-timed) at Sheperton! Any other 'new' ones I should know about during the three years I've been away from the Thames?

Complaints about ill timing seem somewhat unfair without us knowing the reasons.

As someone else pointed out, that spot is extremely difficult in winter flood conditions as the weir stream heads straight across to that bank and can be quite vicious.

Also, the availability of contractors and plant in a particular area can make a big difference to actual cost of doing the work. The EA might actually have got a good deal by doing it at this time.

Whatever, lets be grateful its being done.
