I need to replace the main sheet on my young son's Topper dinghy as the current sheet (although newish) get tangled up, twisted and knotted too easily; which type of rope (8 or 10mm) is most suitable ie flops easy without twists?

I stow my sheets particularlyendless spin sheet in a bag. I attach one end to a loop in the bag then just shove the sheet in bit by bit and attach the other end to another loop.
There is not twisting involved in stowage and it always comes out with tangle. I use the same for heaving line in a bag also. I hate it when new crew coil up a sheet.
I would try washing the existing sheet in detergent and water. Then stretch it out straight and shake it a bit. Then stow without twisting. This might just solve the problem.
Certainly 10mm braid will be easier to handle than 8mm as a main sheet. good luck olewill

I have a sailing dinghy with lovely soft green braided terylene sheets. My father bought them about 40 years ago, and I haven't seen anything nearly as nice in chandlers for many years.
