Shed some light

This is my 1st post of my 1st boat

I have recenctly come in to the possesion of this boat which has been in long term storage +8yrs.
I am struggling to find out any information on the boat other than it has the name Marina on it, I haven't been able to find and plates relating to the manufacture of the boat, it capacites, Ratings or engine sizes.
The Boat has a 10hp 2 stroke Honda on the rear with steering wheel controls and throttle lever.
I estimate that the boat dates from the early 1980s, and is 18ft in lenght.
The plan is to refurbish the interior and the floor as it is rotten and then upgrade to engine to something larger in the 40hp range so we can do a bit of sea fishing .
If anybody can shed and light on to what this boat is , who made it or sold them i would be greatful.

I think your Honda is a four stroke, not a 2T, i don't think Honda ever made a 2T outboard.

Thanks for the info, haven't yet got that far , bit of an assumption on my part due to the age of it

It could be a Mayland mariner 18.

Displacement canal and river cruiser. Honda is the right engine. Don't think it will take a 40hp!

If it's a Mayland I think it would take a 40.

However Marina did make boats so if it says Marina on it I suspect it's a marina!

Again I think a 40 should be fine, but there should be a plate somewhere with the max hp.

Hard to tell without seeing the stern but it may be a planing hull, if so 40hp should be ok as long as it isn't too heavy.
