It's described as a derelict and yet there were a huge amount of containers aboard that must have been owned by the shippers rather that the ship owner. Maybe they just meant that the ship was disabled?

Doesn't derelict mean no longer manned, as in abandoned. No doubt it is still owned & there will be some discussion to come about who will meet the costs.
