Does anyone know where I can get further info on Sparkman & Stephens, She 26 ft, 1979? Layout or specification....
Or does anyone have any experience of them?

Thanks

Ismael.

Beautiful boat IMHO.

From Dayton's:
LOA 26'
LWL 19'3"
Beam 8'6"
Draft 4'9"
Sail area 245sq ft
Headroom 5'7"
Berths 3-5
An attractive small cruiser/racer rating 18' (1/4 ton) level IOR introduced in 1971.

If I was a lot shorter it would be on my shopping list!

not 1st hand experience, but...

I used to sail my Halcyon 27 against a She 27 on an informal 'friendly' basis. No competition - the She walked away from us every time, particularly to windward. Beautiful boats, if volume is not a priority.

I worked for South Hants Engineering back in the mid seventies for a short time..
Derek Fitzgerald was the boss. The forman was Mike somthing or the other.. and all the craft were built to LLoyds 100A1 spec and of course inspected at the requsite stages..All S&S designs..
They were built in Chandlers Ford near Eastleigh just north of Southampton....
As I remember there were three models in production all to individual order, a 36 or so, a 27 and a Traveller which was a modded S&S design possibly 29'LOA ... The 36 ( or was it a 34) was a really nice boat in it's time but I guess not enough volume for modern days ?
I sail my old Sadler 32 but would of course like one of the She's I helped to build.

Good Luck and Cheers Bob E...

We occasionally crewed for a colleague on his She 27. She was awesome, esp. to winward. My partner still talks about her some 7 years after the event!

It would appear that there were 5 models:

SHE 27, 26'LOA
SHE 31B, 30'4"LOA
SHE 9.5 Traveller, 31'4"LOA (essentialy a 31B with revised deck moulding for more headroom/space below
SHE 33, 32'3"LOA
SHE 36, 35'6"LOA
