She 27 yacht

I'm reminded of a comment about a boat by, I believe, Dennis Desoutter (apologies if I got the spelling wrong) "Sleeps two in comfort, three in discomfort and five in mortal emnity"

Sounds just like a Snappie - we've spent a week or more on board without setting foot on land as a couple, had four on board for a weekend, but five for a wet week would be murder - quite possibly literally!

Great looking boat right enough, but definitely not a steal. She looks tired & neglected inside, and those ancient electronics are worthless.

That shedeck is buggered as wel, and will cost a fortune to sort or hours and days of backbreaking labour :)
Sorry to disagree with you, Steve, but -

Faded and worn She-decking is purely cosmetic. It is fantastic anti-slip. (It's the slightly projecting black imitation caulking that provides the grip, not the imitation teak planking, which is the bit that fades and then wears, eventually leaving bare gelcoat.) If you can spare the time or money to paint the 'planking', it looks great. (There used to be a similar She at Shotley that had been done with the 'planking' painted grey - it looked very classy.)

The inside looks to me it needs a good clean and refreshing, rather than anything major.

The ancient electronics may not be worth any cash, but if they work, they work, and only have to be replaced if they don't.

Whether the price is right, I don't know , but with looks and a performance reputation like that I would have been seriously tempted had it been around when I was boat hunting in earlier years.

The Bavaria looks very nice, but for pure sailing pleasure I would prefer a She 27 any day - at a tiny fraction of the cost of an (admittedly new) Bavaria Easy. I have sailed on other S & S designs, including an S & S 34, and I am sure that a She would be just like a smaller version of the 34.

Re Stemar's comment "Sounds just like a Snappie - we've spent a week or more on board without setting foot on land as a couple, had four on board for a weekend, but five for a wet week would be murder - quite possibly literally!"

I once spent a very enjoyable week long holiday on a Kingfisher 20 with 4 mates, during which we cruised from Southampton to Poole - I only had a week to spare (I went back to Southampton on the train), and the other 4 carried on for another week. And we all got on well, no doubt helped by making sure that we had a nice pub to go to every night. There are only 4 bunks on a Kingfisher, so I was dossing on the floor in the saloon, between the two settee berths there.

That's proper sailing, that is! :)

respect!
I hope they were small mates as the fore bunks are small. And the saloon floor tiny!
a couple of weeks on a kingfisher 20 with swmbo was quite enough for both of us.
The other four were pretty chunky lads, all at least 5'8" - I was the smallest, hence I got the floor. But it was pretty comfortable really. The other lads quickly learned not to stomp on me when if they had to go outside at night for a pee...... :)
