Sharpness Canal Moorings

As a R Severn virgin, I intend to get to the Sharpness canal in a few weeks. The rumor mill says that the moorings are very aggressive on warps, and a length of chain loop at the canal side is the way to go. Any experience out there?

chain or some looped hooks,depends way you are you may be lucky and get some tie rings

a hook one end and a closed loop the other so your rope fits in and ties off on the boat or chain

It all depends which part of the 16 odd mile canal you mean. In most cases if you can find a space where there are no recognised moorings a large stake and a hammer are all that is required. Normal warps will be fine in all cases.
