Sharks in the Mediterranean

Quite a lot of the meddy is over 2000 meters deep.

Yes indeed.
Around the island of Alboran there is a deep trench which is known to be used by transiting tunny in large numbers. Great Whites go for seals. There are no seals in the Med to my knowledge (although I may be proved wrong).
Their alternative preferred quarry is Tunny. So it is not ulikely that they might bef ound in deep water round there as well.

I saw a Monk seal a couple of weeks ago, but there are not many left.
So far with lots of diving I have not seen a shark in the Med.
In Australia in the Whitsunday’s I would see one about one every couple of weeks. Mostly reef sharks

Sharks in Med?

Has anyone seen any sharks in the Mediterranean within the last 1-2 years? (and I don't mean the two legged local authority kind).

I did see some small whales 3 weeks ago, 150 miles east of Gibraltar
