I was aware that there was a requirement for the canal tour boats to become electric sometime in the near future. However, this study suggests that the requirements may widen to cover other vessels within the Amsterdam area (probably not in my lifetime though!).
Hiswa has asked us to invite our berth holders for a survey made by the municipality of Amsterdam. This survey concerns the policy of emission free sailing in Amsterdam’s inland waterways and canals for the next decennium.
Elektrisch varen
The link above contains the survey. Unfortunately there is no English version available, but maybe a friend or acquaintance with understanding of Dutch is able to assist you. Our staff in the office is also available to assist you of course. If you are willing to take part in the survey, please do so before the 12th of January. After that date the results will be announced by Hiswa.

Electric sailing
December 20, 2019
You have been invited by Research, Information and Statistics of the municipality of Amsterdam to participate in the "Electric sailing" study. The municipality of Amsterdam, HISWA, Watersportverbond and the Samenwerkingsverband Nautische Dienstverlening are curious about your opinion regarding the requirement to sail emission-free by 2025/2030.
That is why we have jointly prepared a questionnaire aimed at owners of pleasure craft. We kindly invite you to complete this questionnaire. The answers you provide will of course be treated in complete confidence and your data will be processed anonymously.
Questionnaire
It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete the questionnaire. While filling in you can always go back to previously given answers, by pressing the 'previous' button. Click on the link below to start the questionnaire
