I've now got the boat coded, a commercial endorsement on my YM and a website (partially) up and running - the link is in my sig below. Any feedback welcome, as the site has yet to be finished.
Looks good Wiggo. I got several error messages "This copy of Quickmenu has not been purchased" as I navigated around the site. Not sure if that fault is my end or yours. Also the Azimut42 port side photo would look better if you Photoshopped or Painted out the fenders, imho
Coding can be simple, quick and relatively cheap. my old 1991 boat took me less than 10 days to get survey do all the work and send off the paper work.
Extra cost was only the labour in turning the hatch around, something I wouldn't have done if not for the mca, everything else was normal safety kit for offshore sailing plus a few signs for idiots and a boat manual.
Learn the book requirements first then you can discuss them knowledgebly with the surveyor who has some room for negotiation as to how you solve safety issues.
The painful bit was paying someone to get the stability measurements and he turned up without a tapes measure, used mine and charged me for the work!
I get the error message anytime I click on any of your menu choices. The error message can be clicked away using the top right x, so I can then see the page I selected from the menu, but it still needs a fix. As I say, I dunno if the fault is mine or yours, but this pc (corporate environment, Win XP) lets me see other websites without this problem so as a "test" customer the fault "feels like" it's at your end. When you say code for 8, is that 8 guests plus 2 crew, or 6 guests plus 2 crew, or what?
With coding you get different answers from different surveyors. Mine let me keep an aft-hinged hatch provided I carry a plywood hatch cover to use in emergencies, for example
Looks good and I don't get any error messages /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (MAC with Safari)
My only comment would be all the pictures seem to be positioned right at the bottom of my browser, which keeps making me think I'm missing something further down, daft I know, but I'd prefer there to be more web page under the pictures (if that makes sense!), personal preference only so feel free to ignore!!!
No error message here using Win XP Pro & Firefox 2 but if I change to IE7, then I see the same message as in JFM's pic as soon as I go to your site and every time I use the menu.
That's yet another interpretation then. TigaWave had to rework the hatch, I had to have the plywood emercgency panel, and you got away with a sticker! Congrats on finding such a light-touch surveyor!
