No one has stood up to defend the East Coast from my slur that the East Coast is simply crawling between mud banks.

Would you really rather be on the Soith Coast?

If we stood up and defended our ditch we would end up with all those South Coast oiks nailing their yorts to our pontoons and shackling themselves to our swinging moorings...no sorry, that is ridiculous...they would NEVER want to be so far away from the shore!

Golden rule of sailing the East Coast...keep quiet about it! ;)

maybe they just saw Roger's Deep Water Mark.

see... they were told as young new sailors to stay away from the shallow brown bits where they could see seagulls standing up..... so that's buggered 'em for the whole east coast...

Yeah , I'd get lost with all that open water down there , need a narrow shallow channel to follow , plus where's a chap supposed to dry out and have a scrub off if there's no sand banks   :D

Defend it & encourage people to come here - never!!

Yes I have been to the South Coast sailing & I know where I prefer. Best bit of South Coast sailing I ever did was to get on a fast boat and deliver it here :D:D

My favourite description is: shallow puddles surrounded by mud.

To be honest, I find the East Coast an extremely unattractive cruising ground.
It's one and only redeeming feature is the people you meet here.

I really like anchoring off Copperas Point on the Stour (overnight or even for a day or two) but in the main I agree with you.

I love Suffolk but as far as sailing goes I've been to better places ;).

However, for whatever reason, I'm here at the moment & have to make the best of it.

He's right, it's **** here!!
I would say that the beer is good though.... but I won't!! (as they may want to drink our beer as well!!).

So to summarise:
Not enough water
Smelly mud
warm flat horrible beer

What ever you do, do NOT come to the East coast (we made the mistake of sailing here so you don't have to!!)
