As this seems to be the season for renting our breasts asunder, I must own up.
Because it was dark and blowy and rough at 9pm on the mooring last night, we forgot to do several things before getting off and going home.... like we didn't remove the ensign from the staff, and HORROR! we left 4 fenders on the side from where we had a torrid time on the bucking pontoon whilst refuelling.
Our Yards Launch Boatman will see this on the boat even as I speak, and they are a cheery lot with a disposition towards mickey taking.
What penitude should be considered appropriate for these vile misdemeanours?
We live 40 minutes away, so should we return or just bear it?
At least it wasnt a blue ensign<g>

Yours,
Jim & Lynn

buy back your fenders at the next boat jumble.

no one will nick a red ensign, it will eventually reach that state of pink tattiness which makes people think you've been crossing oceans. the americans think we leave ours up '24/7' because 'the sun never sets on the british empire'

tut, tut and a man of your experience too, and in sight of at least two Royal Yacht Clubs.

Perhaps you could just take delivery of votre Bateau Neuveau and leave the old one there and pretend that its just someone elses boat ?!
