shallow route from Blakeney to wells - film

These short films are great I've been following them from the start.. I've been meaning to buy the DVD's but haven't got around to it. In the mean time I've connected the laptop to the TV and set the youtube vids to HD resolution. Makes them a joy to watch.
I'm quite envious in a way. I'd love to do the same sort of thing, but working life won't allow it. So until it does I'll get my fix from the vids on the box.....

I like the way you start off with those google earth views that pan/zoom down and the way you have inset photo's of the places in them. It really gives a clear idea of where you are going on a trip and put's it into context for the viewer. I presume you have to "buy" those features.

you can get google earth to run a tour moving automatically from place to place - nice and smooth

but to turn it into an HD movie you have to buy google earth pro

£250 a year

however, there is a cheat you can do by getting google earth to run the tour and then use a screen grabber - which is free to lift the screen image which will work if you have a really fast internet connection - which I don't

it works but not at HD which the blokes who pay to download the films want

so I have gone from earning money from google to giving them money.... clever swine innay!

it takes about an hour for google earth to render an 3 minute journey

the images of Blakeney and wells emerging from the route are done with the video editor - just overlaying shots I took and animating them

it takes a while to do..... but basic editing skills

it must be simple to do cause I am an eejit

Have to say your videos of Wells are really enjoyable. Spent many a summer there as a child or in next door Overy Staithe, my late uncle had a cat that was kept on the run between the lifeboat station and the quay and remember many times walking the channel at low tide so that you could use it at high tide. Much easier with a GPS though!
