My Trapper 501 is 28 foot and has bilge keels so 3'6" draft. She has 6 berths and standing headroom (for me anyway). But the bilge keel versions are not AS easy to find. Might be one to consider though.

robertt,

the Trapper 501 got an honourable mention in post #6, but worth mentioning again; my family test sailed a twin keel one and were impressed, I've always thought her a bit of a well kept secret, great value.

I looked at a Fantasia in about 1986, maybe it was a hard used example but I've never seen a boat falling apart quite like that ! :ambivalence:

Really? I quite like the look of them, I've not heard that said before.

Are Jeanneaus generally considered badly made?

I suspect that was the worst period for a lot of boatbuilders, I'm not familiar with modern Jeanneau's but expect they're relatively fine now.

I was not exagerating about that Fantasia !

The answer is, of course ;), a Samphire 26 (3'6" draft long-keeler) equipped with a pair of legs.

Here's a one (with legs) currently for sale on ApolloDuck (I've no connection with it):

... or go back to immediately post-war and you can get this -- draws only 2'-9" and doesn't need legs....
