Is there a pressure that the system should maintain, and how should it do that?
I've emailed the seller of the eBay item to ask.

I plan to do the same, I'm sure there is a suitable adaptor to join the hoses, perhaps a swivel?... I use a harness to tow the hose about and an extra flexible hose to the reg...

That's 1.2bar, so equiv to 12m depth.
How big is your boat?
1.2 bar is the pressure at 2m depth, it's 2.2 bar at 12m.

Try being specific - bar(g) or bar(a)
