We have an open backed GRP wheelhouse. When it gets very hot the windows (on 3 sides) do seem to generate quite some heat so we would like a way to reduce this mainly for use when moored.
We do have an awning but to cover the wheelhouse this takes some time to erect.
Two 'solutions' come to mind.
1) some kind of reflective foil on the glass but we don't want to reduce visibility.
2) Setting up some kind of screening material to cover all the windows.
Regarding solution 2 I have seen yachts with some kind of 'translucent' white material fitted over the glass areas. This allowed a measure of light in but ( presumably) screened out the sun
Has anyone any good experience solving this problem? can anyone recommend a source for good screening material(s)
Many thanks
