On a cycling forum that I frequent two of the threads are around the 50,000 post mark. They have been on the go for a long time but started off quickly. One is titled "I want a huge one......and you can help". They seem quite good at allowing all the banal chat, personal insults and in jokes to be concentrated in one place so that the rest of the threads can remain vaguely relevant (only vaguely mind).
