Sewing question: insering a 'gusset' in a canvas cover
I am altering a canvas winter cover to fit my boat.
It doesn't quite cover the after corners of the cockpit and I need to insert a triangular piece of canvas (ie a 'gusset') each side at the rear.
The approximate dimensions of this gusset are: base 12", height 45", so the included angle at the apex of the gusset will have quite a sharp angle.
Joining the long sides of the gusset to the cover will be a straightforward seaming job but I'm not sure how to make a neat job of the sharp apex.
Any advice please? (Assuming I want to do the job myself)
