SEVERE GALE Warning

I hope you do too. Have been checking all the other boats in the marina to see that they didn't suffer any damage, all appears ok here. Came up a bit quick, that little lot.

Excellent presentation, but can any one explain the difference between the "wind" reading and the "Gust" reading? Particulaly as when I looked just now the gust was showing less than the wind.

I have not looked but I think the Wind is an average over a time period where as the gust is in real time.

Gusts..... A sudden significant increase in or rapid fluctuations of wind speed. Peak wind must reach at least 16 knots and the variation between peaks and lulls is at least 10 knots. The duration is usually less twenty seconds.

Re: SEVERE GALE: prepared now...

Okay, so you thought it was clever to peel my felt back? This time I'm ready. Go on, do your worst.

There's enough bitumen on there that if you turned it upside down and chucked it in the water it would probably float...
