SEVERE GALE Warning

is that a pre requisit to be on A pontoon - got to have gussets? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
What degree will she be elsewhere? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

That explains why, what seemed the entire weymouth fishing fleet was moored up in the harbour this afternoon.

I haven't seen any gussets on A pontoon - in any event with the wind from the south and all of them bows to, the north facing ones are sailing into A - if it would stop raining I'll go see how their springs are. Maybe I will see some gussets then - do they come out in gales?

If you have occassion to walk round to the shower/toilet block in EYH, would you be so kind as to see if the Twister next to the Home Marine outboard motor workshop still has her plastic cover in place. Cheers!

NNE F7 gusting F8 in Haslar at the moment, but little swell. Boats are heeling but I haven't seen any signs of damage
Glad we have double lines because our stern line and one of our rubber snubbers was broken when we arrived at about 1600.

Twisters Tammie Norrie AND Whistler in Emsworth both have their covers still on - hope that re-assures - Off for a beer at the Blue Bell soon, so any other requests at eyh had better come quick!

Yeah, I came home from work and three fenders had worked their way up onto the pontoon ! I've got eight there now and had already doubled all lines up, but got a distinct list to stbd.
Off tomorrow to invest in some pontoon fenders, have been meaning to get them for ages.

My boat is on a trot mooring and has got the wind full into her side. Hope the moorings hold. Had to stand on land and watch her get battered. Strange how boats become part of you. Hope I still have a boat in the morning /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That's why I dont leave my boat in the Exe over the winter. easterlies and especially South Easterlies are BAD!

It runs alongside the shore and the Exe river. As I said in my previous reply South Easterlies are BAD for the Exe when gale force.

Regards.

Daughter reports an oscillating lack of gravity on a cross channel ferry. Teacher (clutching her stomach) tells her charges to lie on the floor and "not tell their parents what's going on". Daughter happy to tell classmates it's an F7 and wished I'd lent her the GPS so that she could tell them how far to go to Dover.

That's my girl.
