Ah But
Have you heard of a 'Lock In'?
Sorts the Men from the Boys
The only Timber seen is used to plonk yer plonk on;)

I've heard of a lockup, lockdown and I know you lockin and lockout of the locks.

I'm trying to get a good lock on the lock terminology in the UK. I await to be enlightened.

Bernie

I'm really looking forward to going through the locks to the lochs and hopefully having some lox along the way.

By the time you've negotiated the last lock at Neptunes Staircase at Fort William, eight or nine from memory, I reckon you'll be ready for some lox and a good sit down :)

I've owned wooded boats for years and have heard a lot of the kidding. It's normal for people to say these sorts of things when confronted with a Real Mans boat. We try to be kind and let them have there fun. Just another case of timber envy.

That's the way Bernie....throw the gauntlet down early and let them know they will be in for a hard time ;)

A 'Lock In' is when the Landlord locks the door and all who are in stay in.
Until the Landlord deems fit or The Wallets of 'Foreigners' are Bereft!

There are quite a few bits of terminology and local customs you will encounter I,m sure.
I,m sure you will need to 'Budgett' for them too
Tee Hee!!

Oh dear, Oh dear, Oh dear. You poor boy.

Lox is what you put on your bagels with cream cheese. Lightly smoked salmon.

We have much information to trade. I just fear for the cost of it. Remember, I'm so poor I can hardly pay attention.

Bernie
