apart from the starboard trim tab and speedometer not working, the move from Calshot to OV's gone smoothly.

Checking out the new local bars, starting with banana wharf

just a suggestion gary.............. why not take boat down to calshot, find a "spare" trailer, recover boat and carryout repairs ???.............................. well, it seems simple enough to me !!!!!!

Have you sorted out some dock lines yet Gary , I have a set of 3 that i only used for 18 months on my old Bav . They have stainless thimbles spliced into them so you can shackle them to the pontoon . You are welcome to them as i have no use for them anymore .

Yes please Andy:) just worked out how to get online at MDL and have been having problems logging on from the phone so sorry for the late reply.

Nice little trip up the river and over to Port Hamble today for fish and chips at the King and Queen... the boaty fun season has begun:cool:

moving a boat a few miles up river should be simple, right?

starting to relax a little now, Saturday and Sunday were a bit manic:

Travelled down Friday night, then up early Saturday to slap anitfoul on where I'd missed bits on the underside as some plonker the week before decided to run his engine next to my boat which turned the ground underneath in to a swimming pool whilst I was under it so had to abandon the job, jumped in the car after finishing the painting to get over to Deacons Boatyard for some UJoint and Gimbal grease plus button anodes for the trim tabs and a few other bots and bobs.. back to the boat at Calshot around lunchtime to fit sterdive and trim tab anodes, a new prop and grease up the gimbal bearing. Launched the boat at 5pm after prepaing the boat, motored over to OV and got her settled in the berth... all went well apart from the trim tab and speedo issue

Had a blast from the past moment whilst at Deacons.. my last boat was there for sale.. a red Flecther 19gts.. brought back fond memories so took a few pictures

Then the real fun started to get the car and trailer back from Calshot.

10am walk from OV to Town Quay (the long way as we got lost:rolleyes:), Hythe ferry to, errrm, Hythe after missing the first ferry as we'd misplaced the tickets when we got to the end of the ramp. 30mins later we're on the ferry and walked the pier reading all the names inscribed in the boards as we went, bus from Hythe as no taxis at the rank to Blackfield thinking we'd get another bus from there only to find they don't run on a Sunday.. noted Blackfield was only a 5min run in the car from Calshot so decided to walk it.. an hour and friggin 15mins later we arrived at the trailer with sore feet:(... gave it a good clean and off we went to Shamrock Quay to store it there to find they didn't know we'd arranged to do so.. site manager was great though and sorted it out in the end:cool:

Trailer put to bed by 4pm so back in the car to drive over to Brighton.. picked Debs up at 5:30pm (4 hours later than expected) to drive back to OV arriving at 7pm.. quick shower and in Banana Wharf for 8pm.

Head hit the pillow at 11pm after far too much wine and the rest is history.. the two pints down the K & Q were medicinal hair of the dog jobs. Boy did I feel rough today.. flat calm and glorious sunshine so someone up there was looking out for me... Stopped off at Warsash to empty the waste tank, the worse of jobs at the best of times but truely gagging with the hangover.

Feeling better now and settling in to doing bugga all. Forum Burgee is on the back of the boat to signify that status... Party time is here:cool:

Looking forward to meeting some old friends this season and hopefully some new ones too:)

will post a few vids from the run down the river today from the phone but for now.. here's our Deb on her Brighton hen night.
