I am going to service my DF 2.5 Outboard, have changed the gearbox oil, engine oil, plug. How do you inspect/change the impeller? Where is the housing? I have found the schematics for the parts for the impeller but can't figure out where it located on the motor, can anyone help.

Having just bought one of these outboards can you tell me where to find the schematics? Thanks.
Two places I can suggest to find diagrams

the water pump is located on top of the gear case with the impeller being driven by the vertical drive shaft.

In small engines with a fixed drive it is sometimes driven by the prop shaft and is located behind the prop but when there there are FNR gears or even just F&N it must be driven by the vertical drive shaft.

Its in the lower leg. You split it from the upper half after removing the bolts and undoing the gear change rod visible at the front of the motor just below the motor cowling. Slacken the locknut and then turn the longer bush - it screws down onto the lower part, whilst at the same time unscrewing from the upper bit. Undo it bit by bit as the lower leg comes away from the upper section.
Then withdraw the lower section until the drive shaft is clear. The impeller is inside the water pump housing at the bottom of the drive shaft. You'll need new gaskets as well as an impeller.
Don't forget the oil & fuel filters.

You can find the service manual on CD on ebay for £7 - worth having at that price.
