I'm working winters (not this year) as a night receptionist. One season equals two years on board, on a very tight budget.
The marina's and yards are more vigilant to strappers working on the "black" than back in the 70'sYoung german guy living on a 20ft boat.. hmmm...... Oddly similar.
Grüße von meiner Signet 20!
Anyways. I dont see why you shouldnt be able to do some painting and varnishing these days.
That is exactly what I was getting at. When I was down there "on the black" was fair game, now reigned in by the marinas. My claim to fame was working on George (James Bond) Lazenby catamaran Maltese Cat.Just for them who think they can rely on making a living over winter months doing job on people boats , our marina just over night have told people to stop working on boat that include polishing top side and cleaning water line ,
These are boat yards jobs not for the marina all in the T&C so they been told .
Some thing to thinking about guys
Funny I just checked out sailing atticus since you mentioned it but couldn’t deal with them calling each other buddy every 5 secondsI don't think it's been mentioned on this thread yet but Sailing Atticus are worth a watch- young couple with a 'can do' attitude, stopping to top up the kitty when they run out of money. Mostly doing boat jobs for other cruisers and they seem quite capable.
