Serious problem with outdrive

No, no ,no, no ,no (yes), it'd be even less like what the conventional wisdom ordains an outdrive should be like; what on earth do Volvo Penta think they are doing , are they on speed? Oh no, sorry, shouldn't mention speed, shaft drive boats are reputedly slower (or less economical) for any given engine power.

In the interest of a balanced debate regarding maintenance on a shaft drive boat, the rudder/s is/are rarely mentioned.
They can leak at seals/glands and bind on stocks, not always a pleasure to work on.

Nah!
We don't want any of that boring stuff
Outdrives it is, gives yer boat a better balance anyway:)

Love yous 'schematic' :)

Do us a favour lovezoo
Post another

We need a schematic of the perfect mobo
Has to combine the virtues of outdrives, outboards, inboards, diesels, petrols, shafts, jetdrives, planing, semi displacement, displacement ,
We don't want things with sails or IPS
That's 'another world' far too complicated:rolleyes:

"You might want to get one of these new outdrives from Volvo, I imagine all your problems will be gone then"

Wonder if those new sensors are connected to an ECU of some kind and the engine goes into "limp home mode"to prevent damge ?, see any previous post on ECUs or newish Volvo engines.
