Serious Medical Question

Thanks to all those who have responed to my question, both on the forum and by PM. (I'm not sure of the relevance of the posts about Aneurin Bevan, Hansard, and code flag W though /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

Aplogies to Freestyle for being a bit confused about what the various abbreviations meant but I did say Electron Beam Angiogram right at the beginning which is what I was asking about.

We are a bit more reassured about what the conventional procedure will involve. Hospital consultants never seem to explain things unless you specifically ask so you have to go and ask your GP. (The last time I did that for some treatment I was to recieve she had "heard of it" but knew no more.) The conventional angio still sounds a bit gruesome to me. Cutting a hole into an artery an stuffing a length of pipe half way round your body....UGH. At least we now know that a full anaesthetic is not necessary. That causes her great problems and can keep her in hopital for days.

I think we will stick with the conventional procedure but it would have been nice to have been given the option to have the EBA (privately even ) at the outset. An option we may well have taken given more time to arrange it.
