What ~i need is a a SIMPLE step by step guide how to do it.

i.e.

mask off
paint with xxxx primer
leave 24 hours
paint with top coats etc .....

but in more detail and advice as to what paints to use

1/ Wash area with water
2/clean area with acetone to remove any grease etc
3/abrade area with wet/dry until "flat mat finish"
4/remove dust with damp cloth or wash and let dry
5/fill any nicks etc with epoxy filler/sand when dry/repeat 3
6 /your choice ....paint with undercoat i,ve just used International perfection 2/pack system.
6/leave for a t least mimium curing time between coats
7/apply topcoat
8/apply 2nd topcoat....if you leave this for over the stated time on the paint you have to abrede the surface.
9/let it go off hard /then polish with good boat polish
10/you can get a really good guide from:.
international coatings ltd on tel +44(0)2380226722. or yachtpaint.com.
Hope this helps!! good luck

i cannot really add much to previous post apart from possibly a light rub down with 400 grade wet/dry of the first and second undercoat and first top coat, Oh, and if you get any insects settling on the paint let it dry properly then wipe them of, that way you will not get any marks ,hopefully, better still try and avoid painting altogether, once painted always needs painting every 2/3 yrs

G'day Adrian,

Why not call into your local sign writer or automotive paint shop and pick up a roll of decal tape, easy to apply, lasts for years, removed with a heat gun and solvent.

Just a thought.

Hope it helps
