There was a TV doco recently about the re-enactment of Shackleton's open boat voyage from Antartica to the Falklands. Now that did not look like fun.
Think it was to South Georgia.
IIRR, the pilot of the Concorde that crashed, had windsurfed across the Atlantic.
Just remembered about Alain Bombard. He crossed the Atlantic in an inflatable Bombard dinghy, with no food or supplies. He did have a meal on a cruise ship part way across, which he later regretted IIRC
