Semco Teak Bucket Rescue Kit

Does anyone have any experience of using Semco on toe rails and cockpit seats etc. it's been recommended by my neighbour in the yard and available here http://www.semco-online.com/semco-teak-bucket-rescue-kit-88-p.asp no connection in any way just curious.

Yes, too many years exp.

I don't use anything else if I am cleaning and sealing teak.

The Semco system is the original and (IMO) by far the best, if done correctly.

The process is easy, yet (as with most things) surprisingly much harder to master. There is always more to the process of cleaning and sealing than meets the eye.

Also a big fan of International woodskin, but use depends on what the purpose of the teak is.

I think it is absolutely brilliant.

I'm using it on teak trim and matching synthetic decking.

Absolutely great but save yourself work and keep up with it!

It's a 10 year old boat but looked like it had just left the boatshow.

See what you meen. It is available in various shades. I will need to look into it carefully.

It comes in various tints. I used it in the laid (iroko) deck of our last boat. It is very expensive but by far the best product I tried.

Agreed, we stopped using it for that reason. We used to use the non-tinted version but about three years ago it started to make the decks appear very yellow, didn't like it all all, so we now just use saltwater and a sponge.

Quite like it myself. Sure, not like 'just cleaned' aged teak but it's not a whole lot different to freshly sanded teak.

The problem above is not with the product but incorrect preparation & application.

If I were to ask my partner (a legal secretary) to re-spray my van, chances are I'm not going to be too happy with the results. But to blame it on the paint is just daft.

Semco does come in different colours, personally I prefer natural, Honeytone is a little darker but I find this a bit too 'pinky' see pics.
