And another (bit further north!)
The area around Lady's Rock and the bottom end of Lismore in The Firth of Lorne, particularly just west of both.
In naughty conditions it's just plain unpleasant verging on horrid, but in calm conditions it has a creepy, sinister feel; quiet, roiling , swirly water which feeds the fears of something truly huge and menacing below the keel !
As a newcomer to Selsey area I transitted west-east in May 2015, edging between Street and Boulder buoys; misty, flat calm and surreal.
My spirits lifted when I heard then saw a Spitfire swooping about overhead in brilliant, clear blue skies!
