Simple question,
Anyone bought or sold their boat in western med;boat english registered,,,owner and buyer are also english residents. Trouble free or experienced problems with authorities, ie local tax·s /duties, ?

Simple answer: yes sold 2 boats, and no never had problems with authorities. But that's not to say you cannot have problems. It all depends on the details (in which respect your question is, er, a bit light!)

Even with your edits, my answer is the same. But the devil is all in the detail, and your q contains not nearly enough detail. Eg you say seller is English resident, but that misses the point. What matters for tax could be whether he is spanish resident. Being UK resident does not make someone not Spanish resident. It is perfectly possible to be tax resident in two countries at the same time. I cannot say this loudly enough: the devil is in the detail, and there is no such thing as a "simple" tax question, unless it's a half-baked one!
