Just selling my first boat does anyone know do you just need to transfer the boat ? Or do you need a separate form for the trailer too ?

Rob

Hi & welcome to the forum,

I don't think you need anything for the trailer, for the boat you can use either the MCA or the RYA bill of sale form (google will find them). I don't know what boat you're selling but generally if you clean and declutter it really well, put it on for a realistic price you'll be way ahead of most of the competition. Good luck...(y)

Include any registration or hull number info on receipt. Add, “inc trailer ser #” if applicable. Free from any yard fees, etc. Remove by sic an sic date. Depends on value: < 2k is a cash deal.

In West Australia (the big Perth in sunshine, 37 max today) the trailer is registered in a manner similar to a car. You will need to provide and sign a transfer form for the trailer to the new owner who takes it to a road traffic office with transfer fee. No inspection required and can be done by mail or email.
The boat also will have a registration and you will need provide a form for the new owner to transfer that registration. Now these 2 departments are completely different and separate just all under "Department of Transport". Recreational boat registration Transfer a vehicle.
The boat should have a Hull Identification Number (HIN) and will need this for transfer of rego. Probably got a HIN however ring Aquarama for contact of a guy who can do HIN. (about $100) ol'will

Posting at Yesterday at 21:33 I think he's probably Caledonian ?

That 21:33 is evidently relative to you; I have "Yesterday at 13:33". This is a good time to be posting in the UK, but that is still 21:33 in Perth AU, which is also not a daft hour to be posting. So, the conclusion must be that you can draw no conclusion from the time of the post.

I don't follow your argument - 21.33 Perth time is past my bed time . (Not a good time to be trying to sell a boat)

The UTC time +8hrs right now is 17.23 (just about evening dinner time) In another 4 hours I will be in bed asleep.

Now where am I going wrong? ?

This is the current time in London

It's all a pointless exercise until the OP comes back and tells us which Perth he means. It is interesting to see how free from regulations we are in the UK.

It's quite late in Perth Western Australian right now and I'll be in bed in half an hour. (No time to think of buying/selling a boat)

As I said before he'll be Caledonian for sure. (y)

I forget that most forum members will already be tucked up with their cocoas at 21:33, but the night is still young for us whipper-snappers. ;)

Yes I love these kind of posts. OP posts something. Hundreds of posts later and the OP nowhere to be seen...... Thread drifted...... All good fun though!
