self tappers with hex head

I am looking for a few large (2" or 5 cm long) screws (ideally A4 or A2 ss) with a hex head (i.e. to tighten with an Allen key) and a chunky self tapping thread (i.e. good at holding through a layer of GRP)

Do such things exist?

If you want to tighten with an Allen key, you'll need a Capscrew not a Hex head. Hex heads you tighten with a spanner (or socket).

you are right, I need a capscrew. But I can't find any SS / self tapping ones with a countersunk head

If you google stainless countersunk tamperproof screws you will get fasteners with a torx head. Will these do? You'll need to buy a torx bit.

Shipwrights working on my boat needed some of a non standard size and we could not easily find. So they cut the tops on the right sort of head and had them welded to the bottom of the right sort of coach bolt. Don't think it cost a lot and they ended up with excatly what was needed.
