I got those winches on my boat and I am about to buy barton winchers, but I am not sure how secure they are and how well they work? Especially if it's a little blowy. They are quite cheap and might be worth trying, but I wonder if there i something like a conversion kit as middle ground between barton winchers and a completely new self tailing lewmar?

Winchers work quite wellwith 4 or 5 turns on the drum. Fitting onto an assembled winch can be difficult. If the top is removed, the Wincher can easily slipped onto the top from the underside.

Simple answer is no. Self tailers are a different design and the Wincher is the only alternative.
Okay thanks for the answer.

Is it possible to winch up to let's say 30kts without having to tail it by hand? Because I plan to get them to avoid having to let go of the tiller while adjusting the jib
