Self replacement PLB batteries

I have removed the battery packs from my ACR Aquafix PLB in order to source a replacement. They are basically 4 x CR123A lithium camera batteries linked together and enclosed in shrink wrap.

Do the forumites know anyone who can make up replacement battery packs?

At a push I could solder up my own but soldering is not my stong point and I'd rather have someone more skilled do it for me.

I tried Strikealite batteries but the said they couldn't help.

this chap (msr55) on ebay did a 8 pack AA for a metal detector for me. Good turnover and lots of positive feedback.

When you do contact him, can you post again here, so we can maybe get batteries made up for our EPIRB's, as they are damned expensive from the manufacturers!

I sourced and changed my EPIRB batteries and then had the unit programmed and checked by the agents to ensure it was a good job. thread
