Self Bailing Decks

I’m restoring an old Teal 18 fishing boat. The decks have been lifted and I needed to change 4 of the 7 bulkheads. Each had through holes which I replicated on the new ones. I’m tempted to put a couple of watertight inspection hatches in the new deck and even a bilge pump. The bilge was in a right state before I started and I’d like to keep it that way. Thoughts?

Yes put in some inspection hatches. This will aid ventilation if needed and allow you to dry the section completely. The limber holes will allow most water to flow out but not all. ol'will
