Anyone know the website of the Select Lock company or anyone who stocks them?

Searching on Google is bringing up far to may hits due to the name select, Bing seemed to fare better with a Select Lock and Hardware company in the states but no website.

It's a lock on my Beneteau washboard, I also had them on my Dufour so I suspect they are a french company. However because name is Select and just about every website in the world has a drop down box in it somewhere with the word Select in it it is throwing up masses of returns, closest I get is the one in the USA with no website, however I doubt its them.

Tip here is don't name your company Select if you want to visible on the search engines.

I just rebuilt my Select washboard lock on my Jeanneau, after the plastic knob broke. I have the pattern drawn for turning up a new knob in aluminium alloy.
Jeanneausspares.com have the lock at 52 euro plus 30 euro postage., but the plastic knob is still vulnerable, as is the shaft into the lock.
I also sourced the unusual keys.

Can do this work for you if you want.

Thanks for the offer, I have a new lock but wanted to look at parts diagrams to see what the striker plate looks like as the one on my boat does not seem to mate with the new lock. I will fiddle around a bit tomorrow and see what I have to do to get it to mate, it won't be a big deal to make one.

I would be very interested in purchasing an aluminium replacement for the plastic knob which disintegrated long ago. Please contact me at keith@elmstead.eu.

I am also looking for the Select Lock Company - I would like to make spare keys for my Beneteau 343? Local locksmiths are not able to locate blanks for this key ... any ideas?

Hi Fullcircle, can you tell me where I can get a new lock barrel to fit please? Mine got forced and the screws that hold the cam sheared off.

I would like to update my search for a Beneteau key ... I found what works great!

YES, I did get excellent keys made!! In the case of this 2005 Beneteau 343, it required an Ilco Y6 blank, which is very easy to get. The Y6 is widely available at any decent locksmith.

I went to my local locksmith who actually ordered some other blanks he thought were right and them made me several different keys to take with me to the boat (me=Michigan, boat=Puerto Rico) at no charge. I then told him which one worked and had a dozen made. My local locksmith is:

Scott's Lock and Key
3710 Elizabeth Lake Rd
Waterford, MI 48327

(248) 682-6720

It's a mom and pop place - they're great!

If you have troubles you could try Scott's and deal with them directly, or if you would like someone to be face to face with them, I wouldn't mind helping out? They are on my way to/from work - I literally drive by the place every day, multiple times, so it's really not out of the way at all.

Best of luck to all!

I understand this post is 10yrs old but see that you are still active and I figure worth a shot. I also have a Select hatch lock on my OVNI and the plastic knob broke. I have not had much luck with extensive internet searches. Would you still be willing to help supply or have your old drawings to provide to turn the knob out of aluminum. Much appreciated!

Sorry, long since left the source for that behind in Essex.
However, take the lock off the washboard and it can be taken aprt quite easily with a screwdriver. Take the knob shaft out of the lock, and take it down to the nearest prototype machine shop, and they will turn you one out of a piece of aluminium bar with the right size spline hole for the shaft. Get them to tap in an M3 grub screw to secure the knob to the shaft.
Still cheaper than a new Select lock.
