Just been up my mast and noticed that the halyard diverter has disappeared. It has only been up 2 seasons and was fitted exactly as instructed including carefully matching the profice. The torx screws seem to have pulled out of the mast. I thought at the time it did not look a good arrangement having threads tapped in aluminium taking a tensile load. Although I calculated the load at 700N which should be well within the capability of the threads. It's possible the screws vibrated loose but they were liberally coated in Duralac so should have been OK. Before I pepper my mast with new holes has anyone else experienced this. I am planning to rivet on the replacement but unfortunatly this problem coincided with measuring for a new sail so I am now short of room to fit the replacement. Two questions. Does anyone know of a diverter wheel which can be fitted without removing the forestay. Secondly the foil actually covers all the forestay so there is no bare wire visible, just the end of the swage fitting. It's difficult to see how a wrap could occur as there is only 100mm of halyard exposed but there is obviously very little moment arm to resist turning and certainly not the recommended 10 degrees. I would appreciate any comments or experience anyone out there has.
