Following up my previous posts on repairing a seized mariner 2.5, Just thought I would post the result. I had a lot of good advice on what to do - and in the end I had to strip the whole engine and replace the crank seals and crank bearings. It wasn't an expensive job - using Tohatsu parts less than £30 including gaskets - and a brilliant learning experience. The engine now starts first pull, and runs well. Would recommend Fairweather Marine - really helpful on Mariner parts and what to do.
