I live near the levi tiana in the Isle of Man. I am thinking of having a look at her. can anyone tell me what i should find there. Ie is it an inboard or outboard etc. is it made of glass fibre / wood whatever? The forum seems to suggest its a nice old boat.

I have decided to buy an old boat to 'do up' and i can find nothing on the internet, pictures or anything.

Help

Very much a classic boat, it is sterndrive, certainly not out board and AFAIK petrol engined. On a boat this old assume the engines and legs would need a total rebuild. Burgundy Ben says they're GRP so shouldn't be to many issues but if used hard then it may have stress cracking. Interior shouldn't be too much problem.
Do a web search for Sonny Levi who was the designer and see if you can find a copy of his book Dhows to Deltas, reading this you'll see its pedigree!

1963 would make it a very early one, which it could be judging by the two separate side windows. As Ben and TR7V8 have said its' definately a classic, with plenty of pedigree, they have a very robust GRP Hull designed by 'the man of the moment' Sonny Levi; one of the most influential power boat designers of the past 40 years and based on his Cowes-Torquay winning boat of 63' - A'Speranziella.

It would have been fitted with twin Volvo 120hp inboard petrol sterndrives. if you want to know anything else about them let me know.

Oh, and if you decide you don't want it, please ask him if he'll sell me what's left of the windscreen? thanks.

Ive been in discusions with the guy that listed the Triana, better take your box of beer tokens with you when you you go the reserve price was £10,000 so its unlikely you will pick it up dead cheap or re Scarron at that rate he won't want to part it out either!
