From experience I speak, routine xray of baggage/parcels is of huge advantage to the lighter of finger and principal. From certain airports it helps the handlers to identify bags for "personal" inspection.
Seems that all our overseas mail leaving the UK now gets x-rayed

I ordered a huge jar of Marmite and a bottle of genuine lee & Perrins Worcester sauce from the uK via Amazon. THE bottle of Worcester Sauce arrived OK , actually earlier than promised but the Marmite vanished totally. obviously marmite is a WMD unless there is another fan here in the USA that nicked it, maybe employing sniffer dogs in US Customs?

And I sent a box of Cadburys Milk Tray chocolates to a friend in the US. It arrived, the box had been opened...simply disgusting.
So I tried again. This time I sent a box of Quality Street Assortment. Again, box opened. Only this time, chocolates unwrapped.
What's up with these people ?
