Hey, that is my new Ensign, I am getting with the yourope thingy. I suggest you do the same or be left behind on your silly roast beefs pride of a historic island in the cold.

It does look like the bridge in the northern end city, Auckland, but don't recall the harbour as big.

Yes has changed a bit.

In response to Sgeir's size comment I think you must have used a wide angle lens - order of size can be judged from the bridge which is roughly 0.6nm from land to land ie abutment to abutment (left hand abutment is just out of the picture) so the harbour is actually quite small. But opens out into the relatively sheltered Hauraki Gulf which is large.

As to Ships Woofy's insult, Wellington Harbour is much bigger and has an enormous statue of Ships Catty in the centre of it (didn't you notice /forums/images/icons/smile.gif), order of magnitude size around 6 miles long by 4-5 miles wide plus some bays inside it, so I guess roughly 3/4 the area of the Solent to give a frame of reference.

And before BrianJ jumps in, Melbourne is the big one, can fit half of NZ or England into their harbour, er sea perhaps, and is never cloudy like Brendan's piccie.

I was there in 90. I remember great fish/seafood restaurant beside that bridge.
