First sail of the season planned for Thurs to Sun next week. Low tides around middle of the day, so thinking of launching at Levington and pottering about Thurs, o'night prob Shotley; Friday down the Wallet to Britelsea; Saturday back up; Sunday out. (Wind /Weather permitting, of course).

1) Anyone suggest a more interesting itinerary - I could launch at B'sea or Titchmarsh, and find middle-of-day low tides awkward to plan around.

2) Never knowingly met an EC forumite, so please wave if you see a little yellow gaff cutter.

Friday down the Wallet to Britelsea; Saturday back up. (Wind /Weather permitting, of course)

All being well (weather etc) I am planning to leave Brightlingsea about 7am Sat heading up the wallet and into Shotley for the Forum Fitting Up supper. Come and join us?

Karouise is a Cutlass 27 whitish hull, grey spray hood and dodgers.

Forecast looks to be cold!

Expect Black Magic and maybe Sabre to be about on the Saturday too.

Thanks for that, just saw the other thread. Will make myself known if we stick to plan A. 7 am sounds early - I know you're trying to maximise the good tide, but if the wind's right we may leave later than that.

Teh Wallet

Hope you had a good sail...
I have enjoyed some maintenance (well not really enjoyed) ,,, hence the question..

Hope to see you some time on the water

Same problem - not much time out last season either means I think I've forgotten how to sail, and it seems as though every time I've thought about prising open the varnish tin this week it's rained too! :(

Hopefully I'll get Swatchways in soon and actually meet some forumites whilst out and about this year!

If you, or anyone else here, is in B'sea Friday eve, I'll gladly buy you a pint. Couldn't sign up for the Fit out supper, 'cos didn't know I was going to be able to get away.

I am hoping to leave Wakefield by 5pm (for some stupid reason we have a high profile Client coming in Fri afternoon and my department is last on the tour!) Not sure I can wear sailing rig for dress down Friday!!

Traffic permitting will be in 'The Yachtsman' by 9pm ish for a pint or two and then catch the watertaxi to the boat. I am meeting an 'occasional' forumite but please join us. Too many pints may delay sailing!

doesn't stop you coming along!
Just let me know. There may not be room at the marina, but i'm certain the pub can accomodate extras.

Thanks, Lil (?). There will be self, brother & 16yo nephew. How about this - if we get in at the marina, we'll see you at the pub. We'll organise our own food - we'll try the pub first, if & when, and failing that make other arrangements.

If we don't get in at the marina, we'll probably go on to Levington, where the car will be, so still may get over to Shotley.

Also, to all, re the sail up - we are small (20') and a gaffer, so likely to be slower than most - I don't expect convoy rules! Also, as hinted, 7.00 am, on the morning after one of the nights before, is going to be a challenge. We'll get there in the end.

Sorry if I've ended up being a PITA, but it would be nice to meet some of the people on here.

Lovely, hope to see you there. We shall be sans dinghy, so also looking for taxi back.
