Securely Mounting Oars to a Wall.

SWMBO would like two varnished oars up in the bathroom as towel rails.

I don't really have the time or inclination to make my own brackets to attach them to the wall.

Is anybody aware of a suitable bracket I can buy off the shelf? Not too unsightly and sturdy enough to support wet towels.

I have two oars hung up in my living room - trophies from my rowing days! I just used a couple of hooks for curtain tie-backs (available from places like John Lewis), and hung them fromt he hooks.

Munsen rings - I've used them for curtain rails, and they come in a range of sizes, but can get a bit pricy for the larger sizes. Pictures on http://www.vgf.co.uk/vanguard/munsen_rings_screw_on_brackets.html (but I get them from a local plumbers merchants).
