Secondhand engine needed

Hi. Someone I know has posted this elsewhere. Can anyone help?


Hi everyone. I am looking for a 40-50hp marinised diesel engine for my 40ft boat. The existing engine has died, I don't want to buy new one as the boat is about 20 years old and its a sailing yacht so the engine isn't the main means of moving it forward but oars on a 6.5 ton boat are impractical. I just thought someone might have one on a pallet in their shed!

Probably the one Ludd bought off them last year. Highly recommended outfit.

FAFB is a good source, found my last relacement there.

Gearbox from Falmouth and a Ford Dorset from Walton.
Even got a ride out in the boat the engine came from.
Best thing is to try and find the same type of engine makes the fitting muh easier.

I understand that the MOD will soon have some 2nd hand engines available from their destroyers.
Might need a bit of adaptation.
