Hi all, decided to do my yacht masters theory exam during the lockdown and having a time getting the secondary port calcs right .
I know I’ll prob never use it after the exam but need to show and know the workings .
Think I’ve got it on the timings then struggle with the heights or vice versa .
Was wondering if anyone has a spreadsheet or a formula that gives you some guidance with the procedures particularly with the heights and getting things round the right ways?
thanks
Keith

Your quite right, you will probably never use the method after the Course
No harm in comprehending them though
There are all sorts (too many) ways to get your head around the Subject and no doubt lots will follow
An easy way to filter through the various calcs is to go on You Tube
There are a few quite good examnples of how to do it there
The beauty of watching a Tutorial ;recording' is you can stop, rewind, have a slurp and go again!

Yep been doing that as well , however the vids never seem to answer the particular skewed questions being asked . Sometimes the more I watch the more confusion . I’m actually fine on the time differences calcs but when it comes to the heights there always seem to be some arbitrary average being used . Deciding which to employ is the holy grail !
Thanks for replying !!
