Second post. You can see I've been away for a while and that winter maintenance is in full force.

My headsail, a 100% genoa is completely nackered. But I don't feel like spending 600+£ on a new one.
I'm a pure cruiser, so performance is not much of an issue.

Is there such a thing as a second hand sail market? I can imagine that the racers chuck a sail after two seasons, because it's no longer competitive. But it still might have some life in it? Where could you get those? Or do you need to be very carefull about your boat dimensions ? Again, performance not an issue.

Group of people on the pontoon: skipper is the one with the toolbox.

As Viking says, Seateach are one of the biggest suppliers of secondhand sails and I havbe used their services on a number of occasions - partic ularly fo downwidn sails when dimensions are not so critical. They cover a wide spectrum from reliable is unspectacular new sails through good quality, nearly news to do-a-season olds.

In fact most of the bigger sail makers have a selection of secondhand sails - the lists are usually on their web sites.
