Second hand inflatable dinghy price.

Looking at buying a second hand inflatable dinghy.

How quickly do they depreciate ?

What (in your area) would a 7'0" - 9'0" second hand inflatable dinghy cost?

With the following:

Rigid bottom.​

Three(3) patched leaks. Caused by tubes rubbing on davits on the stern of the mother boat.​

One bow compartment (front starboard) has a slow leak. Oops.​

About 3-5 years old.​

Continually exposed to Caribbean sun.​

New recommended retail prices is around $4,000.00​

Sorry to be negative but, to be frank, I would be wary of buying something in that condition at all.

Three repairs due to chafing and its being left out in the sun continuously suggest it hasn't been well looked after.

And a slow leak to be found and repaired. That might be costly to repair if it was inaccessible, eg a junction of seams.

Could you get a specialist repairer to have a look at it, and advise you?

Small Ribs never seem cheap in the UK unless they are very rough. I would say they could ask between 1500 and 3000 for the boat. FWIW, I would say 1500 is worth going for, 2000 is looking a bit dear for something that has not been particularly looked after and for 3000 you might just as well go for a new one.

I think they are Hypalon which should not have been trashed yet, but it needs some chaps. If there are signs of sun damage I would leave it unless a real snip.

I was going to offer US$500.00, but didn’t want to insult the seller, but did request his asking price - still awaiting.

I think I will search for a newer one.

unfortunately there aren’t any specialist repairers in this neck of the woods to my knowledge.

All the more reason to be wary of it. Unless you can do your own repairs.

Anyway, we have given you some ammunition to disparage it with. He may end up begging you to take it off his hands.
