The first bullet to bite on our return to the boat was the weather worn cockpit cover.
Now the trusty waeco chest freezer has expired . We have had it for years and replaced ECU , control board etc and always got it going. It will run for a few seconds when inverted!! But then cuts out. Leaving upside down for a while has a similar effect. Possibly it just needs gassing and I will appreciate your advice on this. However it is ancient and unreliable, pity as it is the only one I can find to fit the space (it's a waeco cc 18)
We are considering getting a kit for our existing 70l cool box. I know there is a really good company in UK that supplies these and has good videos and support, can anyone help with their name please.
Any general or specific advice will be appreciated.

I replaced the fridge system in my 1978 Moody 30. It was the usual Isotherm system:

What really made a difference was actually adding some insulation around the GRP cool box. Something that had never been fitted. A combination of closed cell expanding foam, Celotex boards and small bulkheads made of marine ply has properly insulated the box, and I get good performance from it now.

If you are going to upgrade your cool box and add a fridge unit then check the insulation is present, and consider upgrading it.
